Smocking, pink and a longer back
The sleeves are drawn in at the top of the arm and again at the wrist by elasticated shirring; that smocking is what gives the Heloise blouse its line. The pink print stays muted rather than sweet. The back hangs lower than the front, and that one detail changes the shape in profile: the fabric floats instead of stopping flat at the waist.
Fabric and cut
A printed viscose crepon woven with cotton thread, lightly grained on the surface, so it never clings to the skin and holds its shape through the day. An inner layer is built in, which means the blouse is worn just as it comes. The long sleeves keep their volume between shoulder and cuff.
How to wear it
For mid-season, slip a fine roll neck underneath and let the smocked cuffs show at the wrist: the contrast of textures does the work, with raw denim and ankle boots. Dressed up, try a cropped knit over the top with the longer back panel left on show, a leather jacket across the shoulders and opaque tights under a straight skirt.
Size and measurements
Front length ≃ 74 cm, back length ≃ 79 cm, so the hem sits five centimetres lower behind. The sleeves measure ≃ 63 cm before the smocking and ≃ 71 cm once the shirring is eased out. Chest ≃ 73 cm (measured flat, garment laid out).
Care
Dry cleaning is what the house recommends for this piece. Between wears, a pass of steam releases the creases without flattening the fabric. Keep it on a wide hanger, away from direct light. Avoid a thin hanger, which ends up marking the shoulders.
