Eleonora, a short dress in embroidered black
Matte black, embroidery running across the bodice and down the sleeves, a line that falls straight from the shoulder: Eleonora is short without ever reading as severe. The fabric keeps moving as you walk.
Embroidered rayon, belt and lining
The dress is cut from an embroidered rayon crepon, supple with a faint grain under the hand. A belt comes with it and marks the waist as high or as low as you like. An inner lining is stitched inside. The long sleeves close on an elastic that holds the wrist in place.
How to wear it
Slip it under an open long coat, belt it over the top, add ankle boots and opaque tights: the dress carries through the cooler months without fuss. The other route is a fine roll neck underneath with a cropped jumper knotted over the shoulders, leaving the embroidery on show above the wrist.

Care
A dry cleaner, and nothing else. The dry cleaning the house recommends is gentle on the embroidery threads, which a harsher treatment would eventually pull. Keep the piece on a wide hanger, out of the light. Avoid a thin hanger, which ends up marking the shoulders.
